Stretch

What paces now
paced then.
When times two listens
each costs the other
about as much again.
In all probability I didn’t hear what was said.
As a shoe is unlaced
does the foot question?

O I like so much
that you write
"time two" ( time's
little double up) &
theway you play
with the image of shoe and foot
against pace and the race
of time and the classic
proverb if the shoe fits
wear _ and the 'proverbial'
scaffolding underlying these
paced poems of yours.
